Innovation in training

Demands on employees are constantly increasing. Safety is our highest priority and training must be practical and resource efficient. To guarantee outstanding quality,  targeted repeated employee training is essential.

The Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group has therefore partnered with the company NXRT, which impressed it from the outset. NXRT develops software, among other things for Mixed Reality, a technology which allows the virtual world to merge with real components. Together, the partners will develop and distribute software for various applications. RSRG also uses already developed programs such as the Machinery Trainer, the Operation Trainer or the Safety Trainer for its own purposes.

The software is programmed so that it can be played conventionally via the screen or used with VR glasses with or without mixed reality. The areas of application range from initial instruction to locomotive driver simulator, shunting attendant and dispatcher to safety guide.

In addition to the savings in resources for locomotives and wagons and the reduced use of track during shunting training, the offer is also convincing in terms of the individualisation of the training: dangerous, unusual situations that can be repeated at random are simulated and tailored to the trainees. As a significant added value, communication can take place between several functions together or separately.

For the benefit of efficient implementation, the solutions are based on the "XR RailSuite" technology, a 3D development environment for simulation solutions in rail transport, in which roles, functions and infrastructure components are represented.
