RSRG Successfully Involved in Renovation Work
Dedicated efforts and expertise from RSRG have led to decisive results and the successful completion of the renovation assignment in the Gotthard Base Tunnel (GBT) over the past few months, despite significant challenges.
Thanks to the tireless dedication of the competent task force, composed of specialists from various fields within the RSRG Group, the renovation work was completed on time and to a high standard of quality.
A key focus of the work was the track dismantling using functional technology, which allowed significant sections to be processed daily. These dismantling operations, covering track sections of 18 meters each, were fully completed by the end of the 14th calendar week.
The specialized teams achieved impressive results daily with the large milling machine, adhering strictly to the schedules and meeting both the climatic challenges and the high-quality standards. Milling work was also successfully completed in other sections, allowing the final round to begin.
The crucial element was the concreting work, which progressed weekly with careful planning and execution, delivering excellent results. The efficiency of the work was increased thanks to a sophisticated shift plan, where all necessary measures were meticulously coordinated. Due to the high logistical effort, this was the most time-consuming part of our scope of work.
Once this step was completed, rail welding followed, marking the start of the next project phase. Most of the welding was carried out using the high-quality flash butt welding process.
The dedicated effort, well-coordinated teamwork, and expertise of the employees, along with strict adherence to safety protocols, were crucial to the success of this ambitious project. The safety of all involved was the top priority.
