Track field lighting at the new facility successfully tested and commissioned.
The track field lighting for the southern stabling facility at the New Cottbus Works (NWC) has been successfully commissioned. A lighting test in February 2026 confirmed that the illumination complies with standards, is uniform and virtually free of shadows – a decisive factor for occupational safety during operations.
The system comprises around 400 lighting masts, 24 kilometres of cable and lighting for points, service walkways and stabling areas. Despite tight construction schedules, work during ongoing operations and winter conditions, the project was completed on time.
One special solution was a preheating container developed by the RSRG specifically to enable cable pulling at low temperatures.
