Large-scale fire drill in Cottbus demonstrates collaboration between emergency services and the RSRG.
On 20 February 2026, emergency services trained for a real emergency at the New Cottbus Works. The large-scale exercise was planned jointly with the Cottbus Fire Brigade and the Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group’s construction logistics team. Over a period of two months, the scenario, operational procedures and logistics were prepared in detail – including coordination with the authorities, information for local residents and drone support.
During the exercise, the teams simulated a fire with missing persons. Rescue and firefighting operations were successful. The exercise demonstrates that structured preparation and close collaboration enable the RSRG to create safe conditions for operations.
