A strong foundation for the future

The RSRG is setting the course for tomorrow and investing around EUR 60 million in its locations across the DACH region. In doing so, it is making a clear commitment to quality, sustainability, safety and customer proximity while creating modern, efficient infrastructure.

A future-focused project is currently taking shape in Spremberg, Germany – by constructing a new hall, the RSRG is creating additional capacity and responding to growing customer demand for maintenance and sustainable major overhauls of track construction machines. At the same time, a modern office building is being built, while the removal of the existing structures will create more space for storage and production. Construction began in spring 2026. Completion of the hall is planned for spring 2027, with the office building to follow in the autumn.

The RSRG is also sending a strong signal for growth and future viability in Wels, Austria. The ground-breaking ceremony at the end of March marked the start of the site expansion, which from autumn 2027 will provide new space for component repair and refurbishment, parts production and spare-parts storage. This is a targeted development of the maintenance business, with the aim of offering maintenance customers the highest quality and best possible service. The new building will be complemented by maintenance bays for road-rail excavators and additional office space.

In Switzerland, maintenance, inspection and repair work for track construction machines, locomotives and other infrastructure vehicles will in future be consolidated in Landquart. Starting in autumn 2026, a maintenance centre for standard-gauge and metre-gauge vehicles is being built there over a period of around 18 months. It will comprise a three-track workshop hall, a combined washing and workshop hall, areas for component reconditioning, a warehouse, an electrical workshop and office space. Customers will benefit from higher vehicle availability, shorter downtimes and consistently high maintenance quality.

In Wiener Neudorf (Austria), the existing office building is being thermally refurbished and modernised, while a new office wing is also being constructed. In doing so, the RSRG is responding to continued growth in the field of electrical engineering and laying the foundations for optimised processes and a high-performing organisation focused on the needs of our customers. Additional warehouses and outdoor storage areas are also being leased to meet growing material and logistics requirements. Construction work is scheduled for completion by the end of the year.

A new storage facility is being developed in Dornbirn for commercial track construction activities in western Austria. This will increase material availability and enable processes to be aligned even more closely with customer needs.

The Beuna site in Germany is also looking to the future. With the planned refurbishment and modernisation of the office building, the RSRG is investing specifically in a working environment that meets today’s requirements while providing space for further growth. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2027.

In St. Veit im Pongau (Austria), important measures have already been implemented. At the end of last year, a new warehouse was commissioned and the existing workshop was expanded to provide additional capacity for maintaining the road-rail excavator fleet. The additional space provides the basis for more efficient processes and consistently high process quality. Modern equipment and sustainable technology underline the site’s future-oriented approach.
