Drone flights support every stage - from costing to invoicing and from planning to delivery
Uncrewed aerial vehicles provide decisive added value for efficient and transparent construction processes and are used in a wide range of RSRG projects. They support the entire life cycle of construction projects.
Operating a larger surveying drone over critical infrastructure, in populated areas or above uninvolved people requires an operating permit. Since the end of last year, the RSRG has also held this permit for the German market – a milestone for the efficient delivery of rail projects in Germany.
Even before a project begins, the RSRG makes use of the advantages offered by drones. High-resolution photographs and videos document the existing condition of the construction area. Distances and areas can also be surveyed, providing a reliable basis for costing. By recording local conditions precisely, customers benefit from efficiently planned processes and accurately calculated quotations.
During the construction phase, orthophotos are generated and uploaded to SitePlan. They form the basis for digital surveying as well as the documentation and monitoring of construction progress. Drone flights also take place between individual work steps to record the condition precisely. This enables well-founded decisions and ensures efficient coordination among everyone involved in the project.
A particular benefit lies in the considerably simplified yet highly accurate invoicing process. Orthophotos taken before, during and after the construction phase enable exact and traceable quantity determination for areas, lengths and item counts. Measurements are generated directly from SitePlan and accepted as recognised evidence. Aerial images can also be used for clear project documentation and marketing.
The RSRG now also offers drone surveys to external customers, applying its expertise specifically to projects for railway infrastructure managers, public transport operators, planning offices and industrial customers.
